		<abstract>A case study for segmentation classification of multispectral Landsat 5 TM imagery from surroundings São Francisco River to produce map of use and occupancy of the soil is presented. A classification techniques implemented in the SPRING were ISOLEG  with previous segmentation by region growing. Segmentation procedures were then applied to this combined image, using the criteria implemented in the SPRING software, showing promising results.</abstract>
